IDEO, design contractor   [Current]

 

Gaia & Gino, designer             

Starting as a sponsored school project, work was selected to go into production slated August 2006.  Work exhibited at the International Milan Furniture fair and ICFF in New York.  Worked closely with international client and manufacturers to bring project to market in less than six months. (2005-2007)                             

 

IDEO, design intern     

Studied visitor behavior and flow patterns at the San Jose Tech Museum.  Worked with studio heads at IDEO to develop research methods and concepts for presentation to the museum’s board of trustees. (Summer 2005)

 

SuperHappyBunny, design intern

 

Worked directly with the studio head managing the pre-production and production of one of the company’s major product lines.  Worked with pricing, sourcing, and the manufacturer to ensure a successful product launch. (2003-2004)

 

Orange22, design intern

Designed concepts and layouts for a new Ralph Lauren retail space with the studio head.  Designed entertainment centers for Elite Manufacturing, a long-time collaborator with Orange22.  Helped manufacturers to refine and perfect prototypes.  Designed graphic layouts for company website and competitions. (Summer 2003)

 

UC Irvine Game Culture and Technology Lab, designer

 

Designed and produced the lab’s brand identity system.

 

Skills and Related Experiences

ManufacturingRapid prototyping with 3D polyjet printer, lasercutting, vacuuforming, Bridgeport mill, metal and wood lathes, plaster, silicone, resin mold making and casting, fiberglass.  Model making techniques.

PrintAdobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Quark Xpress

                                    3DAlias Studio Tools

Hand Marker rendering and quick-sketching.  Illustration skills in acrylic and ink.  Architectural-style drafting and lettering.  Pattern-making and sewing.  Graffiti art.

 

Film Design

Worked on 14 short films in a variety of roles as director, editor, principal actor, supporting roles, conceptual artist, and crew.  Worked closely with directors, producers, and actors to create moods and storyboards to best convey the story. 

Most of these films have gone on to show at national and international film festivals.
